Have You Ever Wondered Where God is?
I do not mean where God lives, but where can I find His help?
The fact is, God is a lot closer to you than you may realize.
I remember some years ago having a heart-to-heart talk with one of my daughters. She told me she was not saved.
I told her that God was only a prayer away, all you have to do is lift both hands up to God and He will pull you up.
She is now saved and a child of God, and very happy too
Lets see what the bible says about How far away God is to us. In Acts 17:24-31, we read;
“God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent.
Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”
So How Far Away Is God From Me?
In Acts 17:37 it says, “That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:”
So God is not far from every one of us. Wow. That includes the whole world! The verse seems to imply that we need to seek the Lord to find Him. Amen. God indeed is only a prayer away!
Why Can’t I See God? I Want To See Him.
I want to see God too, I am longing for that day when He calls me home to the Glory Land called Heaven!
That is the time we will actually be able to see God the way that we want to, face to face.
But for now we must follow His instructions on how to serve, Love and obey Him. We may see God now, but only in our spirits. What do I mean by that?
Well God says in Romans 1:17, “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” This is how God has set it up for all mankind, and He will not change it for anyone.
If we want to Find God and Please God we must do things His way, and not ours. I saw a sign once in the Midwest that said, “My Barn, My Rules.”
Well, since we are God’s creation, it”s His Creation, His Rules. So we must serve God by Faith.
OK, So I Must Do Things His Way, I Guess That Makes Sense
Once we can accept that we must be willing to do things God’s way, We will soon find God. Once God sees our willingness to submit to Him, He will say, as He said to this young man.
“Thou art not far from the kingdom of God.”
“And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.”
One thing about Jesus, He can tell when we are crying out to Him from our hearts, and He will hear us when we do.
The Stairway To Heaven
Once we begin to earnestly seek God in prayer, we have stepped up upon the very first step onto the stairway that leads to heaven. Keep stepping upward! If you need more information on how to have a relationship with Jesus, click this text. May God bless you! Phil
