Sin shall not have dominion over you!
I was thinking about this scripture this morning, it is so wonderful to be truly FREE from the bondage and misery of sin! Praise the Lord!
Let us see what the passage means in context, let the Lord speak to us!
“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.”
Being Then Made FREE From Sin!
Is not that wonderful?
Once I was religious.
I prayed, read my bible, and even went to church.
But I was not free.
I was not free from sin
Every now and again I would go and do some willful sin.
I was not free like this passage is talking about
Sin had dominion over me.
But then one day, in prayer, this is what I told the Lord.
“Lord Jesus, your Spirit does not witness with my spirit that I am a child of God like it says in Romans 8, but I WANT your Spirit to witness with my spirit that I am a child of God!”
I also thought about the scripture that says, “if I build again the things that I have destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.”
These scriptures helped me to be honest with God.
I also told the Lord that I wanted to be with Him when I died.
After I got off my knees peace flooded my soul and I knew that I was forgiven and delivered from my sins!
Since that day I have not committed ONE willful sin! God has given me power over sin!
I still make mistakes, of course, but no more willful sin! Praise the Lord.
Paul and John Taught the Same Thing
Here are some of the things that the Apostle John taught.
“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.” 1John 3
We can be Freed From Sin!
“Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.” Romans 6.18
It starts by praying and calling out to the Lord Jesus to forgive us of our sins!
As you are sorry for all the sins you have done, know that the Lord promises to forgive us of all of our sins, and he will clean us up too!
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I Jn 1.9
After we pour out our hearts to God in prayer confessing our sins, He will forgive and give us wonderful peace in our souls!
“Therefore beng justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5.1
Your guilt will be all gone, what a feeling!
Conclusion, ALL may be freed From Sin!
I know that many false prophets and teachers say we can not stop sinning
But I have shown you what the Bible says, and also my own experience.
You can be freed from all sin! That is why Jesus Came and Died!
” And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.” Mt 1.21
