“And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.”

Please! Do not be deceived!

I have been praying about this for some time. It concerns me very much.

It is a beautiful thing when a precious soul becomes awakened to their sinful state by the Spirit of God, and then becomes sorry for their sins and cries out to Jesus to forgive them of their sins!

But after that, then what?

God is faithful. After we get saved He will lead us if we allow Him to.

The problem comes when we jump ahead of God and just go and fellowship anywhere.

Then we get trapped in some church and start learning their false teachings, and because we do not know any better, we take it all in and believe it.

In this scripture Jesus tells his followers to take heed that ye be not deceived, because many are going to come in MY name, saying I am Christ.

It is not that there will be many people going around saying, I am Jesus, no.

Think about it, have you ever even heard of anyone saying they are Jesus? Sure there are a couple nuts around who are saying that, but not many.

The MANY who are saying they are Christ are the ones saying GOD SENT ME TO TELL YOU THIS MESSAGE.

Christ means the anointed one, or the inspired one sent by God

All preachers will tell you, “God gave me this message for you”

But did God really give them a message for us?

Or did Satan actually send them to deceive us?

In Matthew 24 Jesus is talking to the disciples, and the disciples ask this question;

“What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?”

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.”

Take Heed That No MAN Deceive You

Most of the time we get deceived by some man, usually a minister or a pastor that we like to listen to.

Hear Jesus again just 7 verses below verse 4 in Matthew 24.11

“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.”

This is exactly what has happened and is happening in our time.

There ARE MANY false prophets, and they are deceiving MANY!

But how can we KNOW if the one we are listening to is deceiving us?

By the Spirit of God. He will show us if these people are of God.

And by His Word. The Bible.

Jesus spoke a lot about false prophets. Again in Matthew 7.15-16

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?”

So we SHALL know them by their fruits.

What fruits? Evil fruits of sin.

See, as you are probably aware, when God saves a soul He forgives them of all of their sins. Not one sin is left unforgiven.

We feel clean, and at peace with God and ourselves. All the guilt is gone.

Does God want us to go back and start doing those very same sins He just forgave us of? No!

As Paul says here, “God forbid.”

Let’s see what the Bible says about this in Romans 6

1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

3Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7For he that is dead is freed from sin.

It is a very natural thing with one who is newly born to keep away from sin.

But then when this newborn innocent soul steps inside of a church, what is one of the things they hear from the PREACHER, of all people?!

“We all sin every day in thought, word and deed.”

That goes against the innocent newly saved persons common sense. Why would I HAVE to go BACK into the sins that God just forgave me of?

The reality is, you do NOT HAVE to go back into those sins. But, because most of these innocent lambs are listening to a Wolf in sheep clothing telling them they WILL sin every day, they usually DO go back into their sins, and become deceived.

It is time to run for your lives if your preacher is teaching you these things! He is a WOLF!

Beware! Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 7!

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Ye shall know them by their fruits.”

So, What does the Bible Teach about Sinning?

Let’s turn to First John the Third Chapter and read.

This passage is so clear that it does not need any explanation.

“Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”

That was the Apostle John, let’s see what the Apostle Paul says about sinning in Romans 6:14-16

“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”

Paul also say this in Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

What does Jesus Say About Sinning?

in John 8.31 down.

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

In Luke chapter 10, verse number 9, Jesus says;

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

God gives HIS children POWER over ALL the power of the enemy! All power means all power.

If I have all power over Satan, how can he force me to sin? He cant!

Christians do not sin because they HAVE to sin, they sin because they WANT to sin. Period.

Conclusion; Beware of False Prophets!

Jesus has already given us His warning to be very careful who we allow to teach us.

It is up to US to steer clear of false prophets!
